Wood Brothers aim to re-discover Hannibal and his Carthaginian civilisation from the saddles of their bicycles. As they ride from Spain to North Africa the brothers will tell the story of Hannibal and his elephants as they show off some of the Mediterranean’s most picturesque landscapes.

As part of a BBC television series about their journey, scheduled to go to air in 2010, the Brothers will document their trip with on-line video diaries, a blog, video postings and real-time GPS positioning on this website.

To prepare for their gruelling bicycle journey Wood Brothers have been in training. On this website you can find photos and videos of their recent bicycle adventures in the Alps and the Pyrenees.

About the authors

Danny, Ben and Sam Wood are three brothers who followed in the footsteps of three ancient Carthaginian brothers Hannibal, Hasdrubal and Mago. They cycled from Cartagena, Spain to Zama, Tunisia - the route that Hannibal and his army took over 2200 years ago. Along the way they filmed a documentary which was aired on BBC4 in July and August 2010.
